In the early 1970’s, while in college, he picked up the flute and discovered that he loved improvisation.  After completing a BA in Anthropology at U.C. Berkeley, his initial career path — he changed key — as well as schools and began studying music at Cal State Hayward East Bay.

For the last 35 years he has been working in the IT industry. In 1992, he formed a small business providing IT computer network systems, installations, upgrades and maintenance for businesses in the SF Bay Area.

Bob Harrison has been playing the flute, primarily soprano flute, for the past 40 years and continues to pursue his interest in improvisation. Throughout his lifetime, music has been an integral part of his life. He has been fortunate enough to work with several bands in the greater SF Bay Area.  He embraces the wide and growing genre of music available in the SF Bay Area and enjoys listening as well as entertaining new opportunities to collaborate with other artists.

Born in Oahu, Hawaii in 1953, Bob moved to Oakland as a child and eventually settled in San Leandro, CA. He started out on trumpet as a school boy at about age nine and switched to French horn in Junior High School. He stayed with the French horn throughout Pacific High School and at the University of California, Berkeley.
